This just in! I've quit FFXI for a bit.

Not that I was some sort of endgaming fool.  Although I should have been with all the time I devoted to this game.  ADHD I suppose.

Anyway, I've decided to take a long LOA because this time of year, and this year especially, is when all sorts of new vidja games hit our shelves.

Fable 2 and Mirror's Edge are just two of the games that will devour my time and demand my attention.    I've always considered myself something of a 'gamer' but since I've started to play FFXI I cannot claim that anymore.

Honestly, I started playing in Nov of 2007 and have not really played any other games since.  Sure, the occasional Tactics and what not, but nothing like I used to.

I've even noticed that some basic 'skills' I had as a gamer have declined in that time.  Example, I went back and started to play Dead Rising again and I was just awful.

I don't really know why I went on this long tangent, buuuuuut I just wanted to say something of my absence. 

So, I may come back sometime, but I really don't see it.  This game was quite a bad thing for personal relationships but that's for another day I suppose.

They say "don't buy gil! don't buy characters! don't buy in game items!"

they say that it goes against the TOS.

They= SE if you don't know.

But, when THEY want to sell us an in game item, it's suddenly okay.

Wtf mate?

So for like $51 something American, you can buy a fancy little item that does some fancy little things.

Wow, hypocrisy much?

I won't buy this. Not because I can't afford it, buy because I'll be too busy buying my leaping boots from an RMT.

Honestly.

This is going to be a little note where I complain a lot. Just to warn you.

So let me tell you a little story.  I'm in an exp PT the other night in Qufim.  The range of our PT was 21-23 with me being the highest.  I informed the leader before I joined that I would ding soon and create the dreaded 3 level gap.  Apparently they were okay with this.  So I wander down and get my level, as previously stated that I would soon.  I say /p chat. "Ooh. 3 level gap." to let them know.  I was going to finish with a "I can leave if you all think the exp gets bad." Before I do, however, the leader, Elecktrai, says, and I quote "You're not kicking anyone. I'm certainly not leaving." I reply with a "wtf?" They go on to say "last time I checked, I was leader and I can't be kicked" again, I'm like "wtf?" then I proceed to try to explain to the idiot that I was telling them I could leave before she goes on to say "It's over Azarei. No one is being kicked. End of subject" So by then I'm a bit angry and I say choice words and disband.

Ten minutes later, I'm in my MH getting ready to log out when Elecktrai sends me a /tell that goes something like this.

"Haha. You left like a child that wasn't getting their damned way."

I tell her that I wanted to let the PT know of the gap.

She goes on to say "Say hello to my blist, PUNK"

Wtf mate?

I hate some people.

I finally did my first campaign battle today.

Yes, just today.  It was amazing. I get there, get mah tags and get hit with some random AOE. I freak out and run for the hills.  Oh, background first...

My highest job is BRD 51 so I decided to head into West Sarutabaruta [S] to see what it was all about.  I go in there thinking I could toss some cures around, raise some people, so on.  After I run off from the initial AOE death scare, I get brave and decide to cast Elegy on one of the Yagudo.  Hahahah. It one-shots me with a force that literally makes me cry. Well, not really.

I get raised and hang out for a while. 

Campaign ends, I get 480 exp and 300 AN.

Not too shabby.

So I completed G1 and G2 withing a few hours of eachother last night.

I'm very excited.

Also, the Bonanza was fixed.
