Hello MyFFXI members, today there is no FFXI or Square Enix news. But we do have our very own MyFFXI member that wishes to draw your character for free. I beleave it is good practice for him and he says it will help increase his growing portfolio. His name is joujames87 on MyFFXI but in game he goes by Sigard of the Midgardsormr server. Here's what he has to say...

I don't know really how to start, other than with this...

THANK GOD its almost the holidays. Work and school has been busy as all hell the past 3 months. I can't wait for Dec. 13th.

So yeah, anyways, I'm looking to do some work for my personal portfolio over break. And what better way than to take commissions from fellow players of my favorite mmorpg? ... Yup, its the best way.

FFXI commissions have been something I've been trying to do for the past 2 years. It started with 8, which I did successfully for the LS. I even submitted a few more past that. One player in particular was very excited for their drawing, but refused to give me any way to contact them other than logging on and hoping to find them in Midgardsormr. (You hear that, Epitaph? I still have your drawing... I just need to know how to get it to you ;P)

So now, I'm branching out. I'm doing more than just drawing friends characters, but rather offering my services to the entire ffxi community. At the moment, I'm 'advertising' at Myffxi.com.

So yeah, be aware that this does require an email, OR messaging over myffxi.com. I have outlets on almost all internet networking sites: DeviantArt, Myspace, Facebook, and myffxi.com

If you were to send a request for artwork of your FFXI character (or characters, friends, etc), I ask that you be coherent and explain what you would like. Don't worry about being "To the point", I know character concepts are hard to explain. Feel free to include a backstory to the characters you want me to illustrate - any little bit of detail helps. Your the customer, I'm the worker - I just need to know exactly what it is that you want.

So, you want a drawing of your FFXI?

STEP 1: Contact me via Messaging over whichever website you saw this.

STEP 2: I will contact you back with details about what I need to know in order to draw your character. I'll ask thing such as character concept, race, hair style, etc. (Note that these details don't have to be limited to FFXI - maybe you'd like your character to have a tattoo and such. This is where you let me know.) Please respond with your wishes ASAP so I can begin drawing.

STEP 3: Wait ^_~

STEP 4: I'll send you a message saying that the drawing is 'done'. I'll send you a copy via email OR if you prefer... like some people... I'll just host it to the net and provide you with a url. I hate doing this cuz after a few months I have a million comps hosted online that people expect me to keep uploaded. I'd rather just GIVE you YOUR drawing and then you can decide how and where to host it.

STEP 5: Revisions. Obviously, if it isn't exactly what you wanted, let me know and I'll adgust it. I'll then resend it again.

Aaaand that's all. Boy, I hate writing this sorta junk. I'd rather do these things face to face. Anyway, this doesn't have to be high maintenence. Please let me know if you'd like a drawing for the holidays. It'd be a great holiday gift for a friend ^_~
