MyFFXI's The NM: Issue 13: Final Fantasy Mixed Drinks

Hello MyFFXI members, before I talk about the FF mixed drinks I would like to remind everyone its National Video Games Day!! Here's a short history of this great day...

Video Games Day celebrates popular video games that stormed onto the market, and changed the way your kids play games. From Atari to Nintendo to Xbox, video games provide all too many hours of playing time on your television set.

In grandma and grandpa's day, they had stick horses for toys and playtime. Todays kids (big kids and little kids) have an enormous array of video games to play. Before you get tired of one game, another one hits the market.

The extensive research into this special day discovered two separately distinct dates. Also, both dates for this special day refer to it as Video Games Day and National Video Games Day. Based upon the research results, give the edge to September 12th as National Video Games Day, (Video Games Day is July 8th). Lucky gamer that you are, you get to celebrate two video games days.

Celebrate  National Video Games Day by playing video games. If you are off from school (or if you are a big kid off from work), make this a marathon day for video games. Better still, invite a few friends and hold a competition. Just make certain that you have enough controllers.

Now for the MyFFXI members who are of legal drinking age (in your respective counties*)...

     * We here at MyFFXI.com do not allow under age drinking.

FINAL FANTASY NIGHT!!

Scrollbar hosts the official weekly Fredagbar (Friday Bar) of IT University of Copenhagen. A number of us study games in the "Media, Technology, and Games" Masters program. In February, they made a Mario Theme Night,so the next step was of course to take the famous video game franchise, which in their opinion is Final Fantasy. As of the 9th of May they host Final Fantasy Night. Not only did they decorate the bar and createunique cocktails, but the bartenders were dressed up like Final Fantasycharacters.

Different Final Fantasy characters are hand crafted and hung up on strings. Furthermore, posters of Final Fantasy environments and characters are placed on the walls. Printed menus are placed on tables throughout Scrollbar so that patrons knew what special drinks are available. Also they show both Final Fantasy movies and clips from the games on the projector.

Lastly, they pooled their vast knowledge of mixing and alcohols (it is Denmark, after all) to craft fifteen unique Final Fantasy-theme drinks/shooters.

The three most popular cocktails was the Waltz on the Moon, the Summoner Yuna, and the Aerith. But all their recipes were very well-received. They encourage you to give them a try - but please credit them if you do!

(Note: "cl" stands for centiliter. Two cl approximately equals one "shot")
