Do you have a GREEN Linkshell?
Posted On June 15, 2008 08:07 AM by Kyleet

The saying. It's true.

"Birds of a feather~"

Or rather, noobs of a feather, flock together. Or choose the same color Linkshells. If your linkshell is a green shade you might not want to read any further! This may forever taint the way you look at that shiny smudgy ball of color beside your name!

A while back in Dunes I noticed a certain group of people sporting a bright green linkshell. Being Dunes, I sort of expected the average number of nooblets and all, so when I was in a party with 3 of these people, and they started doing stupid things, I just did what normal players do: Complained about them to my linkshell.

Well, one of these greenhorns befriends me and being the sweet kitten I am, I never say no to befriends. Well that turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes I've made in this game. Because this fellow will bother me at random times asking me what level I am. I'm never /anon. Why would he ask me that? And when I search him up he's STILL in Dunes. I mean this was months ago! It's like this guy has never left. He's been on different jobs of course, but still... does he actually LIKE it out there or something? Anyway, the one time I told him what job I was, I was on DRG/WHM and he then asked if I could PL him.

o.O;

Moving on. That was in the past, but this bitter memory was called up today when I was partying DNC on Sillabub. I was soloing merrily in Dunes at 18 when I got an invite for Qufim. Well it was annoying to get there since the OP isn't till 20 but I took it anyways, hoping for some good exp. Get out to Qufim finally and get to the camping spot. My pt consists of a friend I made the night before, 2 members of a dusky green colored LS, a scholar and another DNC who is Japanese. We also have a "PL" from this mysterious green LS.

The 3 green squad members were a NIN that I never bothered to examine, A DRG (18) in level 7 gear, and the PL was a 42 WHM. I put PL in parenthesis because with the gear she had on, I almost thought she was going to be PTing with us. I didn't examine though so, I just shrugged it off. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and pretend it was some uber gear that looked like low level stuff.

Off to fight worms were we, after about 30 mins of standing around doing nothing while the SCH went afk a few times and we waited on I dunno what, really. After some prodding we finally ran to the pond and started fighting worms. Or rather -I- started fighting worms, and the party kind of moseyed along after me. Eventually the other DNC and my WAR friend caught on: The PT leader (NIN) and that DRG were complete morons. Or pansies. Probably both. Why? Because the NIN wouldn't even attack. Heck he wouldn't even head towards a worm until someone else started attacking it. He obviously had no idea he had provoke either because he never used it save a few times when the worm was already in critical shape. Me, the other DNC and the WAR shared tanking just cause the worm never really paid any attention to the DRG or the NIN or the PL.

And that PL only slowed us down. I have no idea what she was wasting her mp on. With me and the other DNC and the SCH, no one needed much healing. But we had to stop every 4 fights or so for the "PL" to get mp.

But that's not even the funniest part of the tale. The best part is when night falls and the banshee's spawn. We gather at the middle of the pond and obviously the plan is to wait the whole night out there. Even though we have a *points imaginary finger with emphasis* FORTY TWO white mate sitting right -there-. A quick look on wiki confirmed my guess - these banshees are only 31-33 max. But the WHM said she couldn't handle them. The SCH pipes up in her defence swearing that her 38 BLU couldn't take one. Meanwhile I'm giving the lesson on how Banish works to a 42 WHM. -.-;

Even after this lesson, WHM sits on her happy ass and does ~nothing. Still convinced she couldn't take them. Well along comes a 36NIN/DNC. Who proceeds to start fighting the Banshee. It's not a quick fight, but the Banshee goes down none the less, leaving the NIN/DNC unscathed. And on the right side of the pond a 42 RDM/BLM takes down another Banshee for the PT she's PLing. This RDM is wearing all 30~ RSE for Hume F. Which isn't the best stuff to be taking hits in. And yet (GASP) she survives. I felt the urge to rub it in. But I think the 36NIN taking one down should have been painful enough to the high and mighty WHM42. :3 Sure would have embarrassed me!

So what does this all prove?

That the SCH in my group just admitted she's a terrible BLU, and that maybe I should start expecting the worst when I see a green linkshell hovering over someone's head...~

LOL her blu cant take that on? xD That's so sad my 36 SMN could slaughter banshee with just carby lolol. Lesson learned, well served! Good Job! ^^b

Yeah I know right? I've never tried personally but I know Sillabub took out a couple wights with 34 PUP. Granted I have the RDM automation that has cures but still, no more than a WHM42 would have :3 or a BLU38 should have.
