If you can't tell by my forum post and bulletin, I've been racing out Kyleet's chocobo. She's doing really good! Especially for a birdie with no abilities, and I'm stingy so I haven't bought incredibly expensive items either. Obviously it won't replace fishing income but its a nice bit of pocket change on the side there and it's actually fun. :) Too bad it seems like the new has perma-worn off so very few players actually race. I'm up against NPC chocos most of the time.
And they cheat! D8
Had a really good pt in Yuhtungha tonight on Rughadjeen. Well it started out good anyway. I must say, I'm a pretty good dam tank, even with mah big honking great sword and its delay of dewm. It's not as bad as great axe delay, so I'm having a easier time with hate than I did when I went through WAR to 37 on Ky with G. axe. I have my method: voke, boost whenever its ready, defender whenever its ready and ws whenever its ready. It seems pretty easy right? But geez you'd think by the way some war/nin try to tank, it's some kind of difficult and complicated process. So they'd rather just pretend they don't know how to provoke...
But I did say it only started out good. Not saying it went bad or anything, but as time wore on ppl started leaving so it sorta threw our groove off a bit. Was workable but the WHM we got to replace the RDM was scared to use her mp for some reason. The RDM before her was casting Cure 3s and Cure2s and I held hate fine. But this chick wouldn't cast a Cure 3 to save -my- life. And when those Sahagins did that stupid watershot/waterball/aquashot thing that does 130+ dmg, well I need a cure 3, kthxplz. Also the whm would not recast protectra. I had to request it in auto translate. That's right, she was japanese. So much for the whole weeaboo japanese = elite stuff, no?
Which is a whole different rant but I'll say it here anyways. There's geniuses and there's idiots on both sides of the earth, okay? I've met just as many nooblet Japanese players as I have any other. Living in Japan does not come with instant video game uber spidey senses or whatever. I get soooo sick of the stereotyping and the JP only junk. If the game had been meant to be segregated, the servers would have been made that way. We should really embrace this game's diverse population. It's one of the great many things that seperates FFXI from those weak sauce MMO's like WoW. :3
Enough of that. I got off on a tangent. Blat.
Good thing the rest of my storeh sort of proves my point further. We manage well even with the pansy WHM because we have a very good bard (who happens to be Japanese too), and is quick on the backup cures when the sahagin go watershot crazy. But then another party member leaves and this blue mage comes along to replace him. I always dread tanking with BLU in the party at this level. They never ever know how to lay off the spamming of their magic. Most even find it a point of pride to steal hate from the tank. I personally think its just stupid, and then we end up with more downtime cause they have to rest and they turned into an mp sink for the whm. And yes, this is what happened. I was doing pretty good on hate control though, and managed to keep the mob's attention most of the time except for the occasional horde lullaby or stun. The BLU did take hate a lot but I could get it right back with a boost or dodge.
But then the BLU lol's at me and says Boost is a waste on single hits and I should only use it before a WS. I guess the genius didn't notice I used it before WS's too. I mean AFTER ALL, Boost has SUCH a long recast time. You really Can't count on it being ready when you have TP, right? Right? 9.9;
Idiot. -.-
So I ignored him. :D
Idly, I'm going to have to change Rughadjeen's face back to what it was. When I hit 29 and put on the eisen gear I notice that some of Valaineral's red hair clips through the back-rear part of the helm. It's not a great big deal. But since I'm usually looking at the back of his head from my perspective, I know its going to annoy the heck out of me so I might as well change it back to the Rughadjeen we all know and lessthanthree.
Until someone makes a DAT that fixes the priorities so Valaineral's hair doesn't clip through hats anyways. 6.6;
