FINALLY!  and I dont say finally, as in i've tried a kabillion times, I mean as the fact that I was too chicken shiat to do it for like 3 months.  Seriously.  I lacked some confidence ... but you know what helped me?

First, I SOLO'ed gobbie snickselfritz (or whatever his name is) and got my Moldy earring.  Apparently you're not supposed to be able to solo him at whatever lvl I was at then.

After that one day, my LS went to Brenner and I was just gonna 'watch' cause I was RDM/THF.  I didn't change. I dont like PvP. I stayed /THF on purpose.  I was SITTING there, not buffed or anything and this 75BLM comes and starts smacking on me with her staff...then sleeps me.  I was PISSED!  I Silenced her, then preceded to buff and kick her ARSE.  She was impressed, the entire LS was just sitting there, half in shock that she had the cahones (balls) to pick a fight with me but even more amazed that I beat her, not ready and definitely without a good subjob.

Anyway.  That did it.  That told me I was ready for Maat.

Yesterday, I got myself prepared. Bought food, borrowed the Auster's Staff and was ready.

Fight #1 - Forgot to heal myself after eating the melon pie, forgot to take the INT potion and yagudo drink, maat resisted my first sleep and that totally freaked me out as I'm now mashing buttons ... hit convert by mistake, then my elixir macro didn't go off but I had already silenced Maat so he hit me with Asuran Fists.  Dead.  He was almost dead too, so I was ok with that fight.

Fight #2 - Bought Genius Earring(s).  ok, I splurged a little, *ahem, entire bank account* ate the pie, healed, potion, drink, buff, slept maat and it stuck.  I knew I had him ... but someone should have told my trembling legs and sweaty palms.
