It's almost rare that I rant about Play Station but now with all the delays for all the hot games that was supose to be released late 07 now being pushed back to Spring 08 kinda breaks your heart a little. When I bought my PS3 at the release I was thrilled about all the games that were going to come out like Resident Evil 5, Devil May Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Metar Gear Solid 4. To find out that every major flag ship game for PS3 was delayed due to bugs in the program, imcompleted scripts, or just they couldnt meet the date was a big let down.

Due to these delays we can only hope there using this time to make the game better then what we expected. Devil May Cry 4 is highy likey to be released on Feb. 5th 2008 with downloadable demos already out. We can expect Metal Gear Solid 4 to come out sometime this march. Hideo Kojima the award winning director of the Metal Gear Series say's he doesnt plan to delay the game any further due to the fact that does not want to disapoint fans like in 07 when the Metal Gear group delayed the 07 release date due to the fact Hideo Kojima was not happy fully with the project and he did not want to have fans disapointed with what we belive to be the final chapter of the Metal Gear Series. As for Rockstar they delayed Grand Theft Auto IV from 07 to 08. From what was reported from Rockstar they said they lacked develpoment time and required an extentsion. Though some other reports stated that Take-Two Interactive, distributors for Grand Theft Auto IV said that by pushing back the release date will financialy boost Rockstars sales.

The reason why take to suggested Rockstar to delay the release is because the orginal set dat was Oct. 17 2007 but with Halo 3 release not far from Grand Theft Auto they belived it was best to delay the date to avoid competion but it turns out the reason for the delay was the fact that the game set on the PS3 platfrom was far behind in development. As for Resident Evil 5 no offical date has been released but from what we heard it was suppose to be sometime in 2008 but The producers of the game pushed the date even futher to some time in 2009.

So with all the major games pushed back what do we PS3 owners do in the mean time. With all the current releases for PS3 I was disapointed in the play time for each game like Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, and Strangle Hold. Maybe to kill the time we can stick to good old FFXI since the compatablity of the game has been resolved we still wonder, Why not remake FFXI for PS3 with enhanced graphics, added features maybe a windower or on screen countdowns "wink wink Square Enix" lol. Though release for a PS3 verison of FFXI said to give PC owners a disadvantage because with 60 frames per second would allow PS3 onwers to see mob pops before PC users could and in theory be over clocked.

Looks like a FFXI made for PS3 will be out of the question for now, So maybe we can buy a game on the Playsation Network only one problem... the games are really limited. I was thinking maybe Playstation should start mas upload of classic titles maybe 30-50 uploads every month allowing gamers to buy and play games they can't even find any more. I personal want to see Parasite Eve uploaded because I never got passed the 60th floor in the second senerio. What else can PS3 owners do then to kill the time. Maybe you want to take full advantage of your console so Sony partnered up with Linux to have Yellow Dog a Linux OPs able to run on PS3. This is really a cool idea but some people can't wait 2 hrs+ to have it uploaded plus the instructions on how to set it up seemed kinda confusing. If you do get Linux installed you can enjoy the feature it has to offer and thoeroicly speaking if Linux is a PC OPs then programs that regular Linuxs uses will be just the same as the PS3 verison.

In theory if an emulator for NES, SNES, NG4, Sega Dream Cast were made for linux are out then it would make the PS3 one of the best consoles out there. Agian another flaw comes out where are you going to find a Linux compatible emulator and who makes software for Linux. Maybe if Sony made a deal Mac then maybe we could be much happier since Windows OPs will never come out for Sony due to the fact that Mircosoft owns both the Windows OPs and Xbox so highly unlikey we will see windows on PS3, but we could still live with Mac but knowing Sony and there disbute with Immersion and there Dual Shock Technology previously used on on PS and the PS2 console but since Sony didnt have patients Immersion sued Sony for mis use of there product and from what i've heard it was a 70-80 millions in royalites. I assume the disbute has been resolved due to the fact that Dual Shock 3 will make an appearance in 2008, but with a 70-80 million dollar settlement maybe they couldnt afford to partner up with MAC.

So all you hardcore Playstation Fans who feel like they got cheated when you bought the system at 600 a pop just to find out more then a year later they add another 20 GBs and droped the price 100 dollars and waited so long for these major games to come out just to find out they were gunna be delayed. That wait will soon be over and hopefully worth the wait with Devil May Cry 4 coming out next week and weeks to follow more major releases following Devil May Cry we only hope that they dont delay anything else or some people we know might go mad lol.
