Last night was pretty odd concidering what transpired over the last week. My roommate actually grew up and finally came to accept the fact I was moving out and is no longer going to burden me with his consistent whining and begging of me to stay. He told me that through a long conversation with his father, he finally realized what was going on with why I was moving out (to an extent, I still walked around the situation as if I was walking on eggshells; got another 2 months to go in the lease, last thing I want it to turn into is a living hell).
To say the least, I was astonished he acted so mature, but this only went so far. He still doesn't get that his cleanliness is why I'm moving out (mainly anyway), so we'll see where it goes from here. Still have a hard time trying to trust him with anything, but it is what it is. If I will need to cut him off like a gangrenous foot, then so be it. I won't lose any sleep over it.
Its good to see that he's come to accept what will happen very soon if that can be any consolation, but I sincerly doubt we'll talk that much (if at all) after april. It was fun while it lasted, and I don't regret moving in with him even with all the problems he's brought upon me. If anything I was willing to make a few sacrifices to cut my commuting time into nyc down, and I cared little at the time of how great a sacrifice. It made me realize who my friend/roommate really was on all levels, and though I will find it hard to put trust in him for as long as I am alive, I will prolly not stop concidering him a friend.
Its ok, you can say it (I tell myself this a lot); I'm a shmuck.
So this will likely be the end of this story. Thanks to all who have read this. And remember above all else, life will only be as good as what worth you make of it. So take care of yourselves everyone, Ill be down in Brooklyn if you ever feel like popping in
