I went with my ls HFA last night to do my first limbus run and I gotta say, I've never had so much fun running around like an idiot stabbing inc mobs. All in all, the run went pretty well with 13 ppl and about 3-4 of us were new to limbus (myself included). We managed to get to the last floor only to run out of time on the final floor when we were getting started with the last two nm (which happened to be manticore... yea, i wasnt too happy when i saw that). The nm's resisted every form of sleep we threw at it, so the only logical course to take would be to kite it around the area, but suffice to say we were short on thf and nins so we couldnt get the win even if we had time to do so.
And I died a lot. And by a lot, I mean more than anyone else in the group. I died like 3-4 times in the zone, it was crazy. But I was putting up huge damage and closing a lot of gravitation and compression (sc ranged from 50-450 in dmg; I know, I pwn the sc
). Traditionally, ppl are meant to spam ws as opposed to making sc's in limbus due to the thought it causes more damage to spam. In the months I've spent parsing xp/limit pts, this is generally not the case. Most cases where I setup sc with others and tried to link ws to make new sc on the fly, more damage was done (even with the occasional resisted sc). Hell, in my merit pt last night where i was trying to get buff back from what I lost that night I was making darkness and light with an ls mate of mine and with the sc we made, we more than made up for the loss of dmg from use of specified ws. The average of sc damage we did with both light and darkness ranged between 3-400; resisting down as low as 20 and spiking as high as 700. And we got an sc off on almost every mob we fought and even killed a skoffin in roughly 35 sec with a darkness sc, ancient circle and angon set.
Enough about SC tho, I'll save a rant about that for later and how I get a bit angry of how ppl don't educate themselfs about the abilities of their ws beyond simple ws damage formulas (which most ppl don't understand either). Back to the limbus rant!
It was loads of fun, tho my rdm friend (his first time in limbus as well) got a little agrivated that no1 said rdm cloth dropped for his af+1; even tho I sent him a /tell saying for him to lot it asap. Can't win em all I suppose. I do feel bad he didn't get the cloth; but imo, he got angry over nothing. Technically it was his own fault he didn't ask about the cloth or look up what he would need for af+1 from the npc you get your soap from. Oh well, its in the past. Tho I would be a bit disappointed if he doesn't come to anymore runs, its so much fun, you can't help but not be eager for the next one.
