DNC: Leveling Alt subs
Posted On November 12, 2008 08:48 PM by Zerzix

Well, I spend the past week leveling Dancer as an alternat sub for my Paladin. So far I am likeing the Dancer job. it is easy to solo due to low down time. The few parties that I have been it made it clear the the TP based ability system gives the Dancer a powerful advantage ofer mages and ninjas. The one real issue I have found is that after resting or zoneing the Dancer has nothing to open with. This gets frustrating when the party wants you to pull and you have no TP.

So my plans for Dancer at this time are to take it to 37, but later, once i finish getting my Paladin relic gear, I might level it up more.

True, and the only reason I have not finished leveling NIN as a sub is the cost.

get yourself a frisbee and you can zone w/o fear. dnc can throw. your AF weapon is in fact a frisbee.

Dancer is a weird job. It's a good source of constant cures but very low damage. It keeps hate almost entirely through JA spam. It's not the greatest melee subjob, either. Comparatively a DRG/WHM is a whole lot more effective than MNK/DNC. Loss of weaponskill is a big downside, no matter how fast you swing. I can see how it's nice for PLD in some situations, where Aspir Samba applies, and having that extra cure is good... but if you miss quickstep over and over you might as well be subbing NIN.
