Ouch!” Eddy yelped as he was pushed into the wall.

“There’s plenty more where that came from,” said Joel, “unless of course, you give me your lunch money.”

“I’ll tell.” Eddy bluffed.

“And I’ll beat you to a pulp.” Joel threatened.

“Okay fine I won’t tell,” Eddy said, “leave me alone and you can have it for the rest of my life.”

“Pleasure doing business with you” Joel replied.

The same thing continued between Eddy and Joel from day one of high school, all the way to graduation. Eddy, who had thought that college was his way of escape from Joel, was extremely irritated when he had found out that Joel and he would be going to the same college. Then, to his dismay, by some cruel twist of fate, they were both room mates. Once again, Eddy was tormented by Joel’s wrath of torture. All Eddy could think about was his pure hatred for that demonizing hellion.

Halfway through college, Eddy had met a woman named Shelby. After getting to know her, Eddy decided that he would have her to be his girlfriend. But before he could ask her, Shelby had delivered the treacherous news that she was dating Joel. Once again, Joel’s actions had tormented Eddy, except this time he had not known it.

Eventually, Eddy had gotten over it. Only because he had thought that it would not work out between Joel and Shelby. Finally on the last day of college, Joel had burst into the dorm room screaming “Yes! She said yes!”

“Who said yes to what” Eddy mused aloud, lost in his own thought about Shelby.

“Shelby said that she would marry me, we’re engaged!” Joel shouted with glee.

“Whoop-de-do.” Eddy said with complete and total sarcasm.

“Don’t be such a killjoy, I mean you should be happy, that someone as great as me is getting married to a woman like her. It’s a perfect match! Ha-ha!” Joel said, lost in his own egotistical world.

Later in life, around ten years later, Eddy heard a knock on his mansion door.

“Who is it?”

“It’s me, your old friend, Joel.”

“Ah, yes, come in.”

After getting reacquainted, Eddy realized that time had not changed Joel. He was still an obnoxious self centered jerk. Whilst Joel was rambling on and on about how he had put so many worthless wimps in their place, Eddy’s mind was focused on plotting his revenge.

“But yes, to the point” Joel said after growing tired of talking about himself,

“I come here because Shelby has kicked me out of my own house. I was wondering if I may stay the night here.”

“But of course you can, women have such issues these days. I completely understand your situation.” Eddy said

“Thanks, I owe you big time.” Joel said gratefully.

Later that night, Joel was awakened by a sound; a sort of laughter. But no, not just any laughter, it was a maniacal laugh. Joel shouted into the darkness “Who is it? Is it you Eddy? Playing some sort of trick?”

“Yes, it is I, but I bring a friend with me; his name is Death.”

“What the he--” Joel’s sentence was cut off as Eddy lunged through the darkness, slitting Joel’s throat and spilling blood everywhere. Joel let forth a bloodcurdling scream as the initial wound had not killed him. Eddy then proceeded to finish the job.

Hours later, Eddy had finished cleaning up the mess. Shortly after, another knock came at his door. To his surprise it was Shelby, looking marvelous as she ever was, time had done her well, unlike her deceased husband.

“I was wondering, has Joel come by here? We had gotten into an argument earlier and he hasn’t been home. I’m worried sick about what may have happened to him.” She asked.

“Alas, your beauty has corrupted me to do an evil deed, out of spite and revenge. Yes, to answer your question, he did come by.”

“Thank you, is he still here? And before you answer that, what evil deed have you done? And I thank your complement.”

“Well, the problem of the matter is--”

Another knock at the door.

“Dang blast it who is it at this late of hour?” Eddy yelled.

“Police open up!” a voice shouted.

Eddy sighed. He walked over to the door and opened it.

“Ah yes come in, what seems to be the problem?” Eddy asked.

“A neighbor called, heard a scream; said it was unnatural” the policeman said.

“So,” Eddy said, “you suspect foul play?”

“Naturally yes, as we are required to approach all suspected scenes as everyone is a part of it.” The policeman replied.

“Fine, I’ll admit to the deed, the scream you heard was this fine young lady’s husband scream as he was dieing. His body is out back if you don’t believe me. Cuff me now and let’s be on with it, I have been up all night and am quite tired.” No words could describe the eerie silence and total shock and awe on the policeman’s and Shelby’s faces.

The police man asked “Will you go quietly?”

            “Yes I will.” Said Eddy

And the policeman arrested him and took him to the prison, leaving Shelby alone and desolate in that big house to mourn the sudden loss of her husband. The judge of Eddy’s trial found him guilty as he had admitted to the crime.

Shortly after Eddy is sent to prison, he is assigned a cell mate.

“What are you in here for?” asked Eddy.

“Arson, I set a building on fire and killed 20 people.” He said

“Oh, cool, I’m in for killing a man” Eddy replied.

“What’s your name?” The man asked.

            “Eddy, what’s yours?” said Eddy

            “Michael” said the man

“Nice to meet you.” Replied Eddy

            “Same.”

Silence ensues.

“Well this is boring.” Michael says.

            “Yea, it is.” Eddy stated.

More silence.

“Well, it has been nice seeing you; I’m getting out of here.” Michael said.

“What do you mean?” Eddy questioned.

“Watch and see.” Michael said mischievously.

Michael then pulled a small explosive out of his pocket and blew up the wall; blowing it to bits.

“Home free from here on out baby!” Michael declared.

They both rushed out while the on call policeman was struck with awe.

Eddy ran home. Once there he changed out of his jail clothes and put some normal ones on so he wouldn’t be sent back. After thinking hard for a long time, Eddy decided it would be best if he went and tried to make up with Shelby for killing her husband.

Once there, he stood on the doorstep, planning out what he would say. He then knocked on the door, only for it to be opened with a big bang from a shotgun. Shelby had seen him through the window and had shot him with her husband’s shotgun.

“That’s what you get.” Shelby said with glee.

She then dragged his body in the house and called the police, saying that an escaped convict had broken into her house and she had killed him out of self-defense. While waiting for his arrival, she happened to notice her high school year-book lying on the floor. She flipped through it, reminiscing; only to remember the good times that they had had together. What have I done? She thought to herself. I know now why he killed Joel, he did it for me, he loved me, as I love him. Wracked with grief, she decided that life was not worth living anymore and hung herself.
