I finally got the last Sandy and Bastok quests in the past done yesterday. Neyla and Halifirien invited me along for the Bastok one. We tried it as PLD WAR MNK BLU RDM BLM. We did fine up until the end, at which point one of the BLMs avoided getting slept by standing back from his friends, and killed the NPC. We tried it again with the PLD switched to BLM, and this time we pulled it off. :) I really love these quests so far; the cutscenes are friggin' awesome.
After that, Neyla and Hal offered to help me do the Sandy one. We went in as WAR MNK RDM for that one. When we got to the Turret, we had to clear the mobs around it first. Hal went to pull one with Chi Blast, but attacked a BLM, and since it stopped to cast, linked several others, and he and Neyla died. Oddly enough, though, the rest didn't aggro me; they just walked back to the Turret. I pulled the rest to solo, one by one, resting to full after each one, then went after the Turret. I'd brought along 6 Antidotes, and good thing, since the Turret uses the poison thing every so often. Though, thankfully, it doesn't actually attack you otherwise; otherwise, I'd have stood no chance most likely. I was low on time by now, and the thing had a lot of HP; I was thinking I wouldn't kill it in time, but I kept going. I 2hr'ed it and everything. When it was at like 40% I realized I'd forgotten to use Berserk, though. Towards the end I ran out of Antidotes, too. But I still managed to beat him with only a couple seconds left (and about 500 HP)! :D Hal HPed and switched to WHM while I was in the cutscene, to R3 Neyla and Poisona me when I got out of CS.
I worked on WS points some more yesterday, too (for King's Justice). I ended up getting to 1,006. I think I need somewhere in the area of 2650. This week my static isn't doing any Nyzul, sadly, because Blue can't make it on Thursday, and neither Nyc nor Blue can make it on Sunday (we'll be doing repeats of normal Assaults for points; wow, it's been forever since I've done a non-Nyzul assault). Nyo linked me to a neat little program though, that can check how many WS points any weapons in your inventory have built up (if any weapons in your inventory earn WS points). So now I don't hafta keep track of my points, which is nice. I'm thinking of getting a few merit PTs and just using my Sturdy Axe in them, for WS points. XD
