Okay, I admit defeat for now! I was working on a DAT project (not the elvaan M one, but another one with my wyvern). I must say, working with programs that crash your compy and give you errors in broken english is extremely frustrating. Anyway I managed to actually finish it alright and all, but then realized I was gonna have to make a new alpha map. And apparently one of the programs does a number on my tablet driver, so playing around in photoshop was that much more annoying.

So anyway. I'm just switching my wyvern to Cait Sith for now until I figure out what I wanna do. I have another idea brewing that hopefully won't be so difficult.

See what I was planning on was sort of merging the Wyvern with a pixie and give the wyvern pixie wings and antennae. That was a lot of wishful thinking because when I got into it, I realized that would be damn near impossible without making a whole new skeleton thingy in VRS, or without setting a LOT of weights to the current one. So I think I'll leave something like that to the pros. But considering my requests get ignored on FFXIdats, I won't be asking for it. Maybe someone else will decide its a cool idea.

In lieu of that I decided a pixie hitchhiking on the back of the wyvern would be a cute substitute. THAT I actually managed to pull off. Somewhat. Everything looks fine and all, but VRS or Meta one screwed up the alpha map on the wyvern. It's not a hard problem to fix at all. Just not one I wanna mess with at the moment, so I'm venting in a blog instead.

Anyway it was about the time that I opened Photoshop up to fix the alpha and realized my tablet driver wasn't working when the new idea for my wyvern popped up. We'll see how that goes... I may or may not finish the wyvern riding pixie DAT, I doubt anyone over at the site would want it anyways.

Maybe I should just stick to faces... 6.6;

And in other news, got my polearm merits all done. Huzzah! On to critical attack rate up. Huz-zah.

Seriously tho, I wish I had some skill with this DAT modding stuff. Such ideas! It'd be so wild to see some Oblivion style armors in XI...

I'm not biased at all!
