I honestly loved DRK I took it to 75 as my first 75 job (on this character) over monk which was about 42 levels higher than it at the time i unlocked it. Subbing it, well...I only know rdm's to sub it for chainspell stun. But if you want to take it all the way do it. But for the simple fact your endgaming it as RDM, yeah they're going to MAKE you sub it. Sorry but it's true, either you drop the theme, drop the DRK job, or just go ahead suck up and do it lol cause they're going to make you do it. 

DRK was similar for me when leveling to 37 tbh. lol I had Gaxe capped from an earlier job, and the run from 1-37 was actually a lot of fun just because of how crazy the damage is at that level. lol I never continued past 37, but it's definitely in my mind if I was to pick up another job.
