/hurray :O

Just got cable installed today. We were trying to get that newfangled Naked DSL from Embarq, but they gave us the good ol run around like most DSL companies do now when you try to get DSL without bundling it with a phone line. Most of the time you have to be an existing customer and threaten to leave them for cable and then they will put it in for you.

Whatever. We didn't threaten.

At first the person was all like such a thing doesn't exist. So then hubby had to inform them that yes indeedy it certainly does, have you checked dslreports lately? Their company is reported by users as having Naked DSL (also known as DSL Lite in some places). So then he got transferred without explanation to someone else. After explaining the situation that person finally admitted that they did have the service but that it was only available for existing customers. (Get the shovel...)

So we just went with cable. We had wanted DSL cause we already had the modem and its a little easier to move around with. Our router is ancient and cabled down, but we use it for the 360. And I don't wanna buy that part the 360 needs for wireless networks. :P

Ancient router + wires to trip on ftw! 8D

Not much going on in the FFXI front. During my relying on mobile signal-that-sometimes-doesn't-exist-in-this-old-house I spent more time playing the 360. Picked up Shivering Isles for Oblivion and have been playing the crap out of it. I love this game. I might even buy the other little DLC for it. Also picked up Civ. Rev for 360 and a few other games. So even though connection is kosher again, I might not be spending as much time online as before on XI.

For a little bit anyways. :3

We beat Dynamis-Xarcabard Friday night. It was quite fun. I came as bard because the LS said that bards are crucial for it.

Well thats what I'll tell them. The real reason I came as bard is cause I'm too cheap to dish out 30k for an opo opo necklace. 9.9;

Anyways, turns out Dynamis was just as boring on BRD as it is on DRG just another type of boring. Not the, /assist, attack, maybe get a WS before it dies boring, but the, play 2 ballads when they wear off and keep the mageling sheeps healed and refreshed and barfira'd type. That all changed at the end though when I was given responsibilities! O, the pressure! Party hopping with 2 hour and songs. It was hectic but that made it a lot more fun. Then stand back and watch everyone beat the crap out of Dynamis Lord in less than a minute.

BRD sure has its moments.

But not as many as DRG >.>;

I know exactly what you mean about Lost Odyssey, haha. It seems like every 360 game is made for widescreen because everything is so scrunched and hard to read without. D: I understand not wanting to venture into a bunch of complicated router junk, though, I'm into this stuff and I messed up once or twice mid-process. lol I just hate MS for charging an arm and a leg for what's really no more complicated than a nerdy little wireless card that costs like a third of the price. They've got some nadz. lol

If convenience is worth spending a little money (much less than the Microsoft branded wireless recieve) there's a neat way to trick your 360 into thinking it's an ethernet connection by using a 2nd router (the cost part that's cheaper than MS) to work as a wireless client bridge on your main router. If that sounds really confusing and/or the current setup is working fine then pay no attention to me. lol It also involves flashing your routers to custom firmwares, but it can seriously extend the capabilities of a cheap $40 router, so it's something to consider! Glad to have you back too!

Who shot who in the what now?

XD Yeah confusing. I think we'll stick to this router from biblical times, being held together with electrical tape and prayers for a bit more. When we go wireless, probably  just spring for the 360 thingy. And maybe an HDTV too so I can play Lost Oddyssey without squinting through the dream sequences. :3 Thanks btw! :)
