What Spyre said. I read an interview with the FFXI team where they said exactly that. PS2 users hold them back from doing all sorts of things. They were blatant. "We can't make any new races because of PS2." So, that's the end of that mystery. But who knows, maybe they'll make some breakthrough. Perhaps.

I think hes aiming for a more playable race kyleet. I think they should too, the massive number of mithras just outnumber all the other races (god knows why...and hes watching you too!) mwhaha :3

Well they kind of have introduced a new race, just not playable. That dancer chick from WoTG is half-elvaan. I have a friend who RP'd his hume as half-elvaan. I wouldn't mind that sort of race either. Heck if they came out with it I'd probably start a new character on that race. Come on square! That's a whole extra dollar a month! Think of the bazooka joe gum you could buy with that!!!

Yeah I really thought we might see whips or flails introduced with the addition with dancer to the game, but nope! Also the new race thing would be neat and all but it would probably have to phase out the ps2 from the FFXI console family as I believe that the limitations somehow prohibit the creation of a new race entirely. Who knows though I've heard two more expansions are still in the works. Lot's of FF yet to play we may just see them both at some point.
