Blog Entry: Well, I was looking for Item ID numbers for the ll plugin for the windower. so I could take out the lots for PLD AF I already have. Yes I use the windower, you can hate me later for it. But the LightLugage works wounders for Dynamis, I have missed my items several times trying to do it all manualy. But that is not what this Post is about. While I was looking fo rthe Item ID Numbers I ran accros a site that is selling the Anceant Currancy needed to upgrade you weapons. Currently looking at starting the upgrade proccess myself, I was intreged. The site is selling the single coins in set of 100. All the stages except the last use the 100 denomonayion of the coins. The was an interesting Idea. Now, I game you can usualy get a few coins here and there in peoples bazzars, and they run about 10k each on Gilgamesh. That would make the Relic Sheild full upgrade run you about1 750,000,000 gil if you can manage to buy all the coins, that could take forever, but if you re good at farming and working the economy in the game, doing it this way might be faster for you. that pluse the items needed for the upgrades, you are looking at 800,000,000 gil dor the hole thing. that iges you a basic gil value for Excalabor. I dont know abour you but 800mil is a bit out of my leage to drop no an item. My peak farming income has bee about 10,000 an hour, so thea would work oout to 8,000 hours for farming for me. with only playing 8 hours a day, alot of the time less, that is 1,000 day, over three years fo nothing but farming. Now the average coin drop we get on a dynamis run is abour 300, give or take depending on the run. that would be about 58 run. Doing two runs a week, about 29 weeks. that is a lot quicker than the farming for it. A dynamis run costs 500,000 gil for the hourglass. so gil wise that comes out to 30,000,000 gil, but you have to work for it, and you still have to add in the cost of the other items needed. So, we have taken the cost down by more than 50%. That would only take me 3,000 hours to farm, that is 375 days of farming. Wait a second, it would take me longer to farm the gil needed to do the runs than it would to do the runs. Wow! Now here is the kicker, looking at this website I found coins in set of 100, sell for $50USD. That gives the coins by themselves an $8,750USD value. Then you still have to spend another 350,000 gil on the other items needed for the upgrades. Most kill seller sites sell in sets of no less than 500,000 gil, and that is a modist $25USD. using that logic, the relic sowrd can be perchased for $8,800USD. Now lets say you buy the gil to buy the coins for bazzars. Once again 500,000 gil is about $25USD. and you need 17,500, and they run 10,000 gil each. So you need 175,000,000 gil to buy all the currancy, that is still $8,750USD for just the coines. So wather you are buying the Coind or gil for cash it is still over $8,000USD Now remember, there are two Items that you need to do the upgrades that can not be perchased or sold. So even if you are a cheating bastard and buy all the stuff to upgrade (I hope you have somthing better to spend $8,000USD on, I know I do), you still have to do the dynamis runs. Wow, 8 grand for a sword that is not even real.
